In western culture in the early 21st century, large breasts are considered fashionable. While weight gain often results in an increase in bust measurement, it also usually results in increases in waist, hip, and thigh measurements too. While some women are content with using padded or push-up brassieres to give the look of fuller breasts, some women want to take it a step further by having plastic surgery to enlarge breast with the use of implants.

Breast implants are filled with either saline or silicone gel. For a number of years, silicone implants were only available to women undergoing breast reconstruction surgery after mastectomies. But they are once again widely available, and are generally favored over those that are filled with saline solution. The advantage to implants filled with saline solution is that if they rupture, the saline that leaks out is compatible with fluids naturally found in the body.

If a silicone gel implant ruptures, however, leaking silicone gel may have to be removed surgically. It can also cause mammograms to be difficult to interpret. While some users of silicone implants believe that leaking silicone gel leads to autoimmune diseases, the research results are inconclusive.

The current medical wisdom is that women who have breast implants will at some point later on have to have them replaced. Over the years the implants can shift, and like most medical devices, they are not believed to be permanent. The history of breast implant technology has shown that one surgery will generally not last a lifetime.

While most women who receive breast implants are happy with the results, some have repeated surgeries in order to correct problems with the original operation, or to get larger implants.

Clothing and swimwear today are thought by many men and women to be more attractive when filled out by a larger bust. And millions of women every year have surgery to achieve that goal.

Some people who want plastic surgery think, “If I’m going to be under anesthesia anyway, why not have several plastic surgery procedures all at once?” Indeed, this is often done on television programs about plastic surgery. There’s no one real answer to the question of how many procedures you can have at once. Some surgeries can be done at the same time with minimal chances of problems, while combining other procedures can be dangerous.

There are some advantages to having multiple procedures at once. You recover from several procedures simultaneously rather than one at a time if you spread the operations out. Your overall costs will drop, since you’re using the operating room one time and having anesthesia one time. A study published in the Archives of Facial Plastic Surgeryreported that the length of time a patient spends under anesthesia during outpatient facial plastic surgery does not appear to be linked to a higher incidence of injury or death.

When the television series Extreme Makeover first came on, the concept of having multiple procedures at once was new and didn’t happen often. But now, patients go over their “wish list” with their surgeons wanting several procedures at the same time. Many surgeons are OK with this, but most doctors agree that more than six hours under general anesthesia pose too great a risk. But in otherwise healthy patients, two or more surgical procedures can be done at a time.

It is a general rule of thumb that the longer a patient is under general anesthesia, the longer it takes to recover. Anesthesia has a significant effect on the cardiovascular system. Therefore some surgeons believe that it is better to put their patients through one surgery for a longer duration rather than two separate surgeries. However, after multiple cosmetic surgery procedures, soreness and swelling usually last longer, so multiple operations at once are only an option for people who have enough time to recover. There are other surgeons who would rather perform procedures one at a time and gauge progress after each surgery, and perhaps fine tune anesthesia for future surgeries.

Having multiple surgeries at one time, or having plastic surgeries on separate occasions both have advantages and disadvantages. The multiple procedures that you want may or may not work well in one session, and your surgeon should be able to adequately explain why or why not that is the case. A Board Certified plastic surgeon in partnership with a skilled and experienced anesthesiologist make the best surgical teams, whether they are able to do all your procedures at once, or whether they want to do them separately.

Many people are quite skeptical of the idea of herbal breast enlargement, while others swear by its capabilities. If you are not sure how you feel about the idea of it, then you may have a few questions. This is especially true if you are thinking about trying out a product.

Here, you will find answers to common questions that may give you the information you need to make your decision. This article will not definitely tell you whether or not the supplements work, but will simply provide you with information so that you can form your own opinion.

Is it possible for herbal breast enlargement to actually work? Estrogen in a woman’s body is one of the leading contributors to breast development. A boost in the Estrogen content of a woman’s body can lead to an enlargement of the breasts. This can be seen at times in women who take birth control pills.

For that reason, it does seem possible that the natural compounds that seems to reproduce Estrogen, could lead to breast enlargement. What are the contents of the pills? Some of the ingredients found in breast enlargement pills can vary from brand to brand, but there are certain substances that are usually key ingredients in all.

Fennel Seed is a plant extract that has long been believed to help with a woman’s milk flow, therefore, enhancing the overall look of the breasts. A Chinese herb called Dong Quai is often used. There are some risks involved in the herb, so women should read the precaution label carefully. Blessed Thistle, like Fennel, is believed to enhance a woman’s breasts and milk flow.

Hops, the same that are used in the process of brewing beer, contain an amount of natural estrogen, and they are often found in breast enhancement pills. Saw Palmetto and Wild Yam are two more ingredients that are often used because they contain the plant version of Estrogen.

Are natural breast enlargement supplements dangerous? There is no definitive answer to that question yet. Some believe that there is cause for concern since high amounts of Estrogen can actually lead to cancer. However, the effects of the supplements have not been seen.

Once you have looked at the pill brand that you are considering, make sure that you do a little research to find out about the ingredients. Some ingredients do mean that precautionary measures need to be taken. Know what you are ingesting before you even start a regimen.
