You can find collagen in various forms such as serum, cream, lotion, drink, capsule, filler, tablet and the rest of other forms. But there must be the type of collagen form where most of its constituents will be retained for long. During the process of the production of collagen supplement, some of its nutrients are lost in one form or the other either as a result of the flavor, preservations or other form of product used for making it.
As a health researcher, I will recommend the which you should take to get the full benefits of taking this product. The best form of collagen supplement which you should go for is the capsule form. Most final product of collagen is still in its pure form. This does not imply that the statement made earlier implies to all.

The topic of fish oil and ADHD has been often discussed lately in the news, magazines and on the internet. By the time you finish reading this, you’ll have a better understanding of how the use of fish oil impacted a group of children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and also why fish oil and ADHD are so often used together in the same sentence. From the findings of this research you will be able to draw your own conclusions on whether fish oil is an effective means of treating ADHD and if it is a course of action you would want to take in your own life either with yourself, or a loved one.
ADHD has perplexed many researchers, doctors, behaviorists, therapists and dietitians for decades. It has received growing attention in recent years as the estimated number of affected children has been estimated to be 3-5%. Most notably, the condition has reached epidemic proportions with American children. It is thought that ADHD is caused by low levels of the brain chemical dopamine, and that if levels of this chemical could be restored either by synthetic or natural means, the condition could be reversed or at the very least, controlled. Ritalin has been the preferred method of treatment for many doctors over the years, and its effectiveness has been attributed to increased dopamine levels the medication causes.
I will refer to something called the AA/EPA ratio in the next few paragraphs. Essentially what this measures is the ratio of the harmful omega-6 acids to the beneficial omega-3 acids. The lower this number is for a person, the better. It has been found that many people with brain disorders such as Alzheimer’s, dyslexia, stroke and multiple sclerosis have higher ratios than those that don’t, leading doctors and researchers to believe that omega 3 deficiency and higher levels of omega 6’s in the diet is the cause, or at the very least a contributing factor for many of the brain disorders and chronic conditions we see today. Such findings are directing many in the medical profession to pay closer attention to the subject of fish oil and ADHD.
Researcher Dr. Barry Sears and colleague Rene Espy engaged in a research experiment where a group of children with ADHD were given high doses of fish oil (10-20 grams) while simultaneously controlling insulin levels in all children for eight weeks.
The results were astounding. After a period of only a few weeks, it was noted that “these children’s ability to concentrate increased dramatically” (Sears 145). It was also noted that there were “positive changes in behavior both in school and at home” (Sears 145). The children’s blood was measured at the start of the experiment and it was determined that the average AA/EPA ratio was around 22. It should also be noted that Japanese children have AA/EPA ratios of around 1.5. Why the comparison to Japanese children? The reason is because Japanese children have a much higher intake of omega 3’s from fish in their diet than their American counterparts, and the average AA/EPA ratio for them is 1.5.
After the eight week experiment the children’s blood was measured again and it was found that the average AA/EPA ratio was as low as 3, leading the researchers to believe the reduction in ADHD symptoms of lack of concentration and poor focus were directly due to the high levels of fish oil used in the diet.
Dr. Sears also noted that at the end of the eight week experiment, most of the children resorted back to their old eating habits, stopped taking fish oil, and then rapidly deteriorated back to their previous conditions.
The findings demonstrated that a lower AA/EPA ratio is achieved by reducing omega 6’s in the diet, and increasing omega 3’s via fish oil. The conclusions to draw from this experiment are that a lower AA/EPA ratio is likely responsible for a reduction in ADHD symptoms and that if the fish oil was to be continuously administered every day, the symptoms of ADHD would either be more manageable or nonexistent.
These results beg the question: If the children continued on the regimen beyond the eight week trial, would the benefits have persisted?
So, what’s your goal? Your goal is to determine where you stand on the topic of fish oil and ADHD. Also, to use this information to determine if using fish oil could possibly improve your quality of life or the quality of life of a loved one by reducing or eliminating the effects of ADHD. Although the experiment is far from conclusive, the results are astounding and shed tremendous light on the miracle of fish oil in the treatment of ADHD. It should also be noted that there have been many similar experiments conducted with comparable results.

I’ll admit, it is difficult to find a review about Shakeology that isn’t from a Beachbody Coach. Doing a search for the product is probably what landed you on this article. I will clear the air right now by stating that yes, I am also a Beachbody Coach, however, I can honestly say that if I weren’t, I would still continue to use Shakeology on a daily basis. Here’s why:
It’s an Excellent Liquid Multivitamin
I’m not big on taking pills and taking vitamins in pill form was never something I could keep up with every day. What I like about Shakeology is that it is a shake. The chocolate flavor literally tastes like a chocolate milkshake. I can handle drinking a milkshake every day that is good for you. Not only that, it makes it great for those who can’t swallow pills but want to take a multivitamin. This product contains all of the essential vitamins and minerals as well as tons of antioxidants from the super-fruit blend (acai, pomegranate, blueberry, goji berry, and more.)
An Excellent Option as a Meal Replacement
The shake is marketed mainly as a healthy meal replacement. This makes it an excellent option for someone who is seeking to reduce their calorie intake but continue to get the nutrition the body needs. There are 70 ingredients to include the standard vitamins and minerals such as A, B, C, D, E, K, calcium, iron, magnesium, zinc, and more.
Shakeology Flavors and Taste
It comes in two flavors: chocolate and greenberry. I can vouch for the chocolate flavor as I am still waiting to try out greenberry. You can mix it with water, milk, soy milk, rice milk, etc. It also comes in packets and you can purchase a combination of both flavors.
If you are worried you will not like the taste, I can say that unless you are extremely picky, you probably will. I have let my family and friends sample it and haven’t had one negative reaction.
While there are tons of reviews out there and it is tough to find one that isn’t biased because it’s coming from a Beachbody Coach, the only true review is the one that will come from you. You are already interested so why not try it for yourself. You will either like it or dislike it. Chances are, you will find what you are looking for in one healthy shake.

With the results of many studies to date, it seems that the link between fish oil and psoriasis has been established, but that more research is needed. Positive improvements were noticed in all the studies I have found, and although some were smaller than others, the incredible health benefits this natural oil provides means it warrants serious attention.
It is estimated that over four and a half million people in the US suffer from psoriasis, making it a fairly common skin disease and there doesn’t seem to be concrete evidence as to the root cause.
In studies across Europe, patients showed a fifty percent improvement after just two weeks and the oils were shown to be extremely beneficial in reducing the itching associated with psoriasis.
As well as fish oil and psoriasis being interlinked, these amazing oils can benefit all of us, especially as over 90% of the population is lacking in these essential fatty acids and they can help to prevent heart disease, lower cholesterol, improve brain health and vision as well as treat rheumatoid arthritis and other joint problems.
They have also been shown to be extremely beneficial for the skin, which is perhaps why they are effective against psoriasis, improving skin health and texture and helping to reverse the signs of aging.
To get these benefits, it’s important to understand what to look for in a quality oil and high amounts of omega 3 are essential. You’d be surprised at the low levels in some fish oils!
The two main omega 3 fats are DHA and EPA with recent research showing that DHA is responsible for most of the benefits. Try to get at least 270mg of DHA and 100mg of EPA per 1000mg capsule.
A distilled oil means that all the toxins from the fish have been removed and the oil is pure and safe and concentrated for higher omega 3 levels, so check the label to see otherwise you may unwittingly ingest some of those toxins like mercury and lead.
I hope this article on fish oil and psoriasis has shown how the right oil can help alleviate some of the symptoms of it, and how beneficial they are in general for your present and future health.

There is much research going on right now regarding fish oil and weight loss, and some results out already are showing some very positive signs. Find out more and also how to select the right oil.
Studies from the University of Australia showed that when combined with exercise, fish oils helped to reduce weight.
They concluded that the omega 3 fatty acids in the fish oil activated the enzymes responsible for burning the fat off, and when combined with the exercise and increased oxygen intake, they increased the metabolic rate, which burnt more fat, resulting in the weight loss.
Other studies on volunteers have shown that fish oils can affect the fat metabolism, lowering insulin levels by up to fifty percent. This means that with higher levels of insulin, you body will use this for fuel but with lower levels, your stored fat is burnt off instead.
Solid proof that fish oil and weight loss are indeed connected!
Considering all the other amazing health benefits like prevention of heart attacks, treatment of arthritis, lower blood pressure and cholesterol levels and improved brain health and vision, it has to make this the most effective natural substance available to improve our health.
However, not all supplements are created equal and in fact the majority are sub-standard, so you need to select carefully.
Look for high levels of DHA, the most useful omega 3 fatty acid, and a molecularly distilled oil to ensure all the dangerous toxins like arsenic and mercury have been removed.
The one I take daily contains 280mg of DHA and 120mg of EPA per 1000mg capsule or soft gel, with 2 a day being recommended, to give you an idea of the amounts and dosage.
With so much more research going into fish oil and weight loss currently, it won’t be long before we hear even more positive news about how they work, but in the meantime, we know enough to realize just how beneficial they can be.

It has been known for a while that arthritis and fish oil are connected, but the extent to which this oil can help is quite incredible according to the latest breakthrough study, although it very much depends on the quality of the oil. Here are some tips for finding the most effective oil, and the results of the most recent study.
A recent breakthrough for scientists looking at the connection between arthritis and fish oil showed how the body converts the DHA omega 3 fatty acid into a powerful anti-inflammatory chemical called resolvin D2.
American and British scientists have always known that omega 3 was good for arthritis, but until now, just how it worked was a mystery, before the discovery of resolvin D2.
The most important point is that the body only makes this chemical from DHA omega 3 fatty acids, and in the majority of supplements out there, it is the other fatty acid EPA that is present in higher amounts.
People taking DHA fish oil have described it as being so effective for rheumatoid arthritis that some are able to come off their prescription medication altogether, a testament to its incredible anti-inflammatory properties that is also responsible for prevention of heart attacks and strokes, lower cholesterol and blood pressure and improved brain health to name a few.
When looking for your supplement, ensure a 2:1 ratio of DHA to EPA and a minimum of 270mg of DHA per individual capsule, any less and you will not reap the maximum benefits or the conversion into resolvin D2 to combat arthritis.
A molecularly distilled oil is recommended as all the toxins like mercury and lead will have been removed and a blend of Tuna and Hoki fish oil currently has the highest anti-inflammatory benefits of any other oil, making it particularly great for arthritis.
I hope this article on arthritis and fish oil highlights just how effective these oils are, and how only DHA oil can bring the maximum benefits.

The possibility of getting too much fish oil is unlikely unless you have an existing condition like an allergy to fish for example. However, it really all depends on the quality of the oil as with many products today you could be unwittingly ingesting toxins from the fish. Here are some tips to ensure you only get the purest and most effective ones.
One of the commonest complaints is those unpleasant fishy burps and odour that comes with poor quality oil. This type will also offer little in the way of benefits as it will be stale or rancid oil.
The way to ensure that there are no toxins left over from the fish is to make sure that any supplement you take has been molecularly distilled. This process separates out the toxins from the oil and actually concentrates it for higher omega 3 levels.
You should be able to find out this information on the website or label and another tip is to avoid any supplements that have an enteric coating as fish oils should be released into the stomach and this type of coating is used to disguise bad quality oil.
With over 90% of the population being deficient in omega 3, you shouldn’t worry about getting too much fish oil, but rather too little!
Lower cholesterol, effective treatment of arthritis and improved heart and brain health are just some of the many health benefits from the best oils.
The two omega 3 fatty acids that fish oil provides are DHA and EPA and you want a higher amount of DHA as it provides most of the benefits.
To give you an example of dosage, the one I take contains 280mg of DHA and 120mg of EPA per 1000mg capsule, and two a day is the recommended dose for the maximum rewards.
Unfortunately you will find many have higher EPA amounts so it’s worth taking the time to find a quality distilled oil with more DHA.
The benefits of the right oil are huge, and it is possibly the most powerful and effective natural substance available and responsible for saving thousands of lives each year, helping you to avoid many deadly diseases in the future while enabling you to enjoy better health in the present.
If you follow these tips, you won’t have to worry about getting too much fish oil, and can be safe in the knowledge that you have the purest and most effective oil possible.

With the ever growing awareness of the benefits of omega 3, how much fish oil one should take is perhaps the most common question, especially as there are no national guidelines to use. What’s more important really is the quality, so here are some tips and my recommendations for a daily dose.
How much fish oil is advised per day seems to vary greatly, but the optimal amount for the average person is around 2g a day, with 1g per capsule.
The omega 3 fatty acids that provide the health benefits are DHA and EPA, and recent research shows us that the DHA is responsible for most of the benefits. Our brains are composed of over 30% DHA fats to show just how vital it is!
Since our bodies cannot manufacture omega 3, and with over 90% of us being deficient in it, a daily distilled supplement is the best solution.
The one I take twice a day contains 280mg of DHA and 120mg of EPA in a 1000mg or 1g capsule to give you a guide.
For certain conditions like arthritis, you can take more quality oils a day, with four being normal for those with severe joint pain and studies have shown that some people are able to come of their prescription meds altogether, such is the power of fish oil on this condition.
Purity is essential and to make sure all the toxins from the fish are removed, any supplement you select should have undergone molecular distillation. This removes mercury, lead and other contaminants to leave only safe oil and is absolutely essential for younger children and pregnant mothers.
The very best fish species to use today are Hoki and Tuna as the mix of these two oils yields much higher anti-inflammatory properties to provide even more protection from heart disease and strokes.
I hope this article has shown you how much fish oil to take per day and the way to ensuring you only get the very best, free from any contaminants and high in the valuable DHA omega 3 fats.

Do you want avoid degenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s later in life while maintaining excellent health in the present? A fish oil diet will help you achieve this but only the right type of oil will work, as many offer little or no benefits at all. Here is what you should look for to get the maximum rewards.
The main benefit of a fish oil diet is that it contains omega 3 fatty acids DHA and EPA, the most beneficial ones, and as most of us are severely lacking in them, a daily supplement is the best solution. When you realize how much contamination fresh fish contains, it’s no wonder why our consumption has fallen so much.
The most important fatty acid is DHA and can provide benefits like prevention of heart disease and strokes, improved memory and brain health, lower cholesterol levels, better skin health and tone and an effective treatment for arthritis, to name a few.
The US National Eye Institute says that omega 3 reduces the risk of age related blindness by over 30% in a recent study and found that that it helps the eyes by acting as an anti-inflammatory, one of the key features of any good fish oil.
It is their anti-inflammatory powers that lie behind most of the benefits making it imperative to select a quality oil as the bad ones have low omega 3 levels and stale oil, leaving you with little anti-inflammatory benefit.
To ensure your fish oil diet is successful, look for high levels of DHA, at least 270mg per capsule to reap the maximum rewards and also ensure it’s been molecularly distilled to remove the toxins.
These toxins are present in many products today as some manufacturers skip this step to save money and boost profits, but in doing so expose you to potential hazards like mercury, PCB’s lead and arsenic. Check the website or label to see.
What could be a simpler and healthier way of ensuring you have a healthy fish oil diet than by taking a couple of quality distilled supplements each day?
